Billy R. Connel went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2018 in Davis. He was born on January 21, 1930 to James Homer and Clara Connel of Mountain View, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from high school in Mountain View and then served his country in the USAF.

Returning home, Billy married Ima Love Jones of Carnegie, Oklahoma and started a family. They had three boys: Michael, Mark and David. Billy was a very generous and loving man to all who knew him.

He retired from Leonhardt… Read More » Lumber Company in Oklahoma City after nearly 30 years of employment in 1992. He then moved to Davis, Oklahoma with his wife Billie, whom he married in 1974. Davis truly became his new home.

The friendships and relationships he built in Davis were like none other. He was employed part-time with Gordon White Lumber for nearly 20 years. Billy loved his community and friends and cherished them deeply.

He was very active in Kiwanis where he served as President and became the first Lifetime Member. Billy was also very active in the Davis Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Homer and Clara Connel; his wife Billie; and his brother, Jimmie Connel.

Billy is survived by his sons, Michael Connel & wife Becky of the Tulsa area, Mark Connel & wife Janet of Oklahoma City and David Connel & wife Melissa of Oklahoma City; one step-daughter, Vicki Khalili & husband Ali of Midwest City; as well as nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
