Obituary for Blanche Fint Shy Frankfort – Blanche Fint Shy passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, peacefully with family holding her hands. Mrs. Shy was born on December 21, 1930, to the late Arthur and Mittie B. Fint. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Shy; sister, Rosetta O’Nan; twin brother, Bernard, as well as brothers, Sherman Fint and Chester Fint, and nephew, Dennis O’Nan.
Some of her jobs included telephone operator for South Central Bell, receptionist for State Insurance Dept. , and was the first woman salesperson for a liquor distributor. She worked many years with her sister in the Deeds and Mortgages division for the Franklin County Clerks Office and retired from there in 1993.
She enjoyed working crossword, puzzles, shopping, and watching any John Wayne movie. Above all, she loved being with her family. She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Thurman (Gary), Susi Goddard, and Sandra Wilcox (Brad).
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of her life. They are Sean Goddard, Ian Thurman (Stacy), Chase Thurman, Clara Thurman, Alexandria Wilcox (Eric Bowers), Samantha Wilcox, Kyle Wilcox, Raife Goddard, Keegan Goddard, Susan Rose (George), and Connor Rose. She also had special relationships with her niece, Sherry Graham (Carey) and nephews, Mike Fint and Joe O’Nan and his family, wife Connie, and children, Ryan and Lauren.
Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Todd Lester officiating. Private committal services will be observed.
The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until the service time on Wednesday. Serving as pallbearers will be Raife Goddard, Keegan Goddard, Mike Fint, Ian Thurman, Ryan O’Nan, and Kyle Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe O’Nan, Gary Thurman, Chase Thurman, Eric Bowers, and Sean Goddard.
