Robert S. Flynn “Bob”, 84, passed away on September 21, 2018. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM, at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave. , Westfield.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Mr. Flynn was president of Unimet Metal Supply, Inc. and Metro Roofing Supplies, Inc. After leaving the Army, he attended Seton Hall University and graduated in 1961 with a degree in Accounting. Mr. Flynn then worked as a staff accountant for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and later went on to be comptroller for two small companies before founding his own company.

He was an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of N.J.C.P.A., where he was honored in 2015 for fifty years of service. Mr. Flynn was an avid golfer and a member of Rock Spring/Montclair Golf Club in West Orange. Born in Elizabeth he has lived in Mountainside for the past 50 years.

Mr. Flynn is survived by his wife Carol (Rutyna) Flynn, his daughter, Karen Snyder and her husband, Matthew, his son Dennis Flynn and his wife, Christine and his six grandchildren, Brendan, Dylan, Kevin, Sean, Jacob and Abigail. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Atlantic Hospice, Simon 3, 100 Madison Ave. , Morristown, NJ 07960 or to the charity of your choice.
