OBITUARY Bob Meury June 23, 1949 – July 16, 2018 Robert Edward Meury, Jr., 69, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away July 16, 2018. He was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, graduated from Rutherford High School and later received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He married Janet Colbath Meury on April 23, 1988.

Bob enlisted in the US Navy to serve as a paralegal. After retiring from the US Navy as a chief petty officer, he returned to work as a civil servant paralegal at Mayport Naval Station. Bob loved his family and was an avid golf, bowling and baseball fan.

Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janet; daughter, Jennifer Whittemore and son-in-law, Brandon Whittemore; son, Michael; sisters, Barbara Meury Grove and Patricia Meury Sternberg. Funeral at 3 pm on Sunday, July 22, 2018 with visitation from 1 pm until time of service at HARDAGE-GIDDENS BEACHES CHAPEL, 1701 Beach Blvd. , Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Committal Service with military honors at 11 am on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, Lane 2, 4083 Lannie Rd. , Jacksonville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Lung Association at www.

lung.org.
