Bogumil “Bob” Czajka, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 24, 2019, with his loving family by his side. Born in Hahn, Germany on November 14, 1946, son of the late Zygmunt and Wiktoria (Krezelewski) Czajka, he lived in Chicopee for the past seventy years. Bob was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1964.

In 1965, he and his parents opened Bob’s Bakery in Chicopee, a family business still thriving today. A US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a sergeant in a service request tracking system squadron in the Vietnam theater of war. He was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr, and retired after more than twenty years of service from Titeflex Manufacturing.

Bob enjoyed family times, especially making jigsaw puzzles with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his loving children, Robert J. Czajka, of Chicopee, and Katherine M. Rorrio and husband Anthony, of Chicopee; four cherished grandchildren, Alina and Nikolas Czajka, and Andrew and Emilia Rorrio; brother, Paul Czajka and wife Dorothy of Chicopee; nephew and niece, Christopher and Jennifer Czajka; and caring cousins, Czeslawa Tarka and husband Joseph of Chicopee, and Margaret Palubinski and husband Teddy of Chicopee. Funeral services for Bob will begin Wednesday at 8:45AM at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:45AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica.

Burial with military honors will follow in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus School Education Fund, 534 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
