Bonnie Bahler, 82, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord at 5:52 pm Tuesday, March 12that Century Villa in Greentown. She was born August 16, 1936 in Onward, Indiana to Harry and Kathryn (Benner) Reed. She married Robert M. Bahler June 5, 1955 in Onward and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2002.

Bonnie worked in the family business, Bahler Grain & Feed Company as a bookkeeper for several years. She was a member of the Walton High School Alumni group where she was active for many years. She attended Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Bunker Hill, enjoyed painting, antiques, flower gardening, trail riding, shopping and was an avid reader.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. Surviving family include her children, Brad (Karen) Bahler, Kokomo; Beth (Scott) MacDonald, Galveston and Barbra (Tracy) Burch, Walton. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Christopher (Jaime) MacDonald; Robert Bahler; Philip Bahler; John (Liz) Bahler, David Bahler, Levi Burch and fiancée Chelsea Lea; and Logan (Tiffany) Burch; great grandchildren, Brodie MacDonald, Jake MacDonald, Lillian Bahler, Laine Burch and Lukas Burch; two sisters, Retta Friend, Anderson, IN; and Donna Wecht, Peru, IN; sister-in-law, Lee Reed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Tom and Larry Reed. Visitation will be held from 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday, March 17that Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 18th also at the funeral home with her son, Elder Brad Bahler and Steve Sherwood officiating.

Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery. Memorial contributes may be made to the Narrow Gate Horse Ranch. Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements.
