Funeral services for Bonnie Joyce Bonner Simms, 74, of Pollok, will be held Monday, October 15, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at O’Quinn Baptist Church in Pollok, Texas with Robert Forrest officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery. Ms. Simms was born August 16, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of Johnny C. Bonner and Ruby Shofner, and died Friday, October 12, 2018 in Livingston, Texas.

Ms. Simms loved painting, crochet, plants, gardening and sewing. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren playing sports. She was very passionate about her work as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service.

She is survived by her daughters: Felicia Sowell and husband Gary; Melanie Justice and husband, Jason; Tabitha Simms; son, Justin Simms and wife April; her brother, Johnny Bonner and wife Wanda; grandchildren: Kyle, Colton, Rachel, Patrick, Shelby, Jordan, Branden, Landon, Madeline, Jadyn, Isaac, Jensen, Lincoln; great grandchildren, Brylee, Luke and Karson. Ms. Simms was preceded in death by her son, Charles Clifton Simms. Pallbearers will be Kyle Cook, Colton Cook, Jordan Simms, Luke English, Paul Bonner, Jr., and Dale Kirkland.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy English. Special memorials may be made to O’Quinn Baptist Church, Pollok, Texas. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
