Bonnie L. (Hogren) Townsend, 81, of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at her home. Memorial services for Mrs. Townsend will be 11 am, Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. There will be no visitation.

Private inurnment will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, or to the family for a memorial fund that will be established at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Bonnie was born on December 1, 1936 in Moline, a daughter of Roderick and Verna (Newburg) Hogren. She married Daryl Townsend on June 27, 1959 in Moline. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2013.

Bonnie worked as a speech therapist at Seton Catholic School in Moline, and later for her alma mater, Augustana College. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, PEO Chapter BK, Augustana College Endowment Society, Kings Daughters, and numerous other card clubs, hospital circles, and volunteer organizations. Survivors include her children, Ann (Tim) Miller, Rock Island, Peter (Lisa) Townsend, Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Ava Miller and Ian Townsend; a sister, Pamela (Lee) Landon, Scottsdale, Arizona, and many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cherished friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Daryl.
