Donna M. Mack, 87, of Reynolds, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Andalusia. Visitation is 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, October 10th) at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Reynolds, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Burial is at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Preemption Township.

Memorials may be made to to Immaculate Conception School, Scholarship Fund, Monmouth or to St. Patrick Catholic Church. Donna Mae Farwell was born on November 4, 1930 in Port Byron Twp. , Illinois, a daughter of Orville and Hannah (Armstrong) Farwell.

She married Francis R. Mack on July 27, 1951 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Aledo. Francis passed away on May 12, 2016. Donna graduated from Hillsdale High School and Marycrest College with her undergraduate and master’s degrees.

Donna and Francis farmed for many years in the Reynolds area. After 27 years of teaching, Donna retired in May 1994. She was a teacher at Villa de Chantal in Rock Island, IL and Rockridge Junior High School in Edgington, IL – she touched so many through her love of literature – coaching many students in competitive speech and scholastic bowl.

Her faith was very important and she took on many roles at her home parish, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Donna served as former parish trustee, Eucharistic minister for the church and home bound, altar society and ADA committee. Donna loved to travel and embraced learning something new each and every day.

She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, theater, art, genealogy, card making, Friday night dinners, and her Texas friends. Donna belonged to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Post #1166 Auxiliary, and Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include her son, Rev.

Msgr. Thomas Mack, Monmouth; daughters, Connie McKinley, Rock Island, Carol (Jason) Lewis, Rock Island, and Lori (Don) Estep, Hope Mills, N.C.; grandchildren, Angela (Ed) Hubbard, Amanda (Jeff) Pickett, Kathleen Estep, and Dr. John Patrick Wagle; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Treavor, Haleigh, Easton and a sister, Mildred Farwell, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; parents; three brothers – Ralph, Walter and Wayne Farwell; and a son- in- law, Paul McKinley.
