Dolores J. Kay, 87, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be held on Sunday December 2 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave.

, Rock Island. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island or to Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Dolores was born on August 8, 1931 in Moline, the daughter of Fred and Helen (Curnyn) Ruebling. She worked as the secretary for IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local 145, Rock Island, retiring in 1993. Dolores was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she played in the bell choir and spent time with her church family.

Dolores also enjoyed being with her grandchildren, sewing, baking, playing bridge, going for walks and taking care of her favorite dog, Zoe. Dolores is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Steve) Grega, Phoenix, AZ and Cheryl (Joel) Heriford, Rock Island and Phoenix, AZ; and grandchildren, Matthew Grega, Shaylyn Grega, Brandon Heriford (and spouse, Shea), Alexander Heriford (and fiancé, Mariah Allen), and Mackenzie Heriford (and significant other, Adam Winter). Her family is very appreciative of the staff at Hope Creek for the love and support that they always provided to Dolores.
