Dale L. Wingler, Jr., 37, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Dale will be 11 am, Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family. Dale was born on January 27, 1981 in Moline, a son of Dale Wingler Sr. and Lorraine (Dow) Wingler. Dale worked as a maintenance man for various companies, as he took pride in working with his hands.

He was known as a “jack of all trades” due to his ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills. He was a devoted father who enjoyed watching his children play sports and taking them to the park. He could often be found in the garage tinkering on items or working on cars.

He also enjoyed listening to music, the Chicago Bulls, grilling and helping people. He had an infectious laugh, sarcastic sense of humor, and the ability to make new friends wherever he went. Survivors include his father and step mother, Dale (Barbara) Wingler Sr., Rock Island; mother, Lorraine DeMoss, DeWitt; grandmother, Rose Dow, England; son, Devin Wingler; daughter, Valerie Smith; siblings, Neil (Glenda) Wingler, Davenport; Sarah (Lee) Clark, DeWitt, Stuart DeMoss, Davenport; step sisters, Corey Freeman, Florida and Bobbie Ojeda, Rock Island; several nieces and nephews; and Lacy Wingler, mother of his children.

Dale was preceded in death by three grandparents; and his step father, Brian DeMoss.
