Brenda Joyce Ealy, arrived January 10, 1949, in Kansas City Missouri, first born of three to the union of Rubin and Beulah Hunt Brenda received her education from the Kansas City school district attending Lincoln High School. In later years, she went on to receive her Associate Degree from Metropolitan Community College and followed up with her Bachelor’s degree from Kaplan University where she received awards for the Dens list and honor roll. She was married to John Lee Ealy, where they lived in Virginia for a short period.

Brenda worked for many years for the Internal Revenue Service where she later retired. Brenda grew up attending church regularly. Her church foundation started at Gospel Mission Baptist Church under the pastor of Rev.

, Dr. Brewel B.S. Simpson, her uncle. She served as the choir director of the youth choir. She later moved her church membership to Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a very active member.

She was a Sunday school teacher; she sang in the Voices choir and later moved to the Inspirational choir. She, enjoyed bowling, playing cards, challenging people at dominos and singing in the church choir, although she was not a big shopper, she loved to dress nice wherever she went. Brenda was known as the woman that always walked fast with her purse on her hip.

She always walked with a purpose. She was hard working with strong work ethics, which she instilled in her children. She was very strong willed and very independent.

Brenda believed in family. She loved being with her kids and grandkids Brenda was preceded in death by her brother (David C. Wright). She leaves to cherish her memory a brother; Glenn Hunt Sr., sister; Linda M. Smith, 3 children; Rev.

, Dr. Anthony Todd Ealy Sr. (Yvette T. Ealy), Angela Nicole Harris (Barry L. Harris), Brian McKenzie Ealy, 5 grandchildren; Keith Todd Rivers, Ebony Joyce O’Hora, Alexis Nicole Rivers, Anthony Todd Ealy Jr. and Jaelyne Ashleigh Rivers, and a great grandchild; Leila Belle Sherlee O’Hora. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation 10:00 A.M. Interment Private Disposition.
