Obituary for Brenda Evans Brenda Evans of Blooming Grove, Texas passed away in Corsicana on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Visitation will be Thursday, November 15th from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, November 16th at First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove with Bro.

Grady Cashion officiating. Burial will follow at Dresden Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Buster Evans, Daniel Dobbs, Jared DeFrance, Ty Chambers, Stewart Chambers and Justin Chambers.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons. Brenda was born in Mertens, Texas to Roy and Ottis Spicer Hollingsworth on November 10, 1943. She met D.K. Evans at the bowling ally and they married a few months later on February 10, 1963.

Brenda worked at a number of years as a LVN at Evergreen Nursing Home and the Memorial Hospital in Corsicana. She also helped her parents at the café in Mertens (Ottis’s Hut) in the 1970’s and ran the Blooming Grove Café off and on from 1982 – 1993. Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church in Blooming Grove.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Darrell Wayne Hollingsworth; sister Joyce Moore and her husband D.K. Evans the love of her life. Brenda is survived by their children: Glisa DeFrance and husband Mark, Lisa Stout, Bubba Evans and wife Paulette and Rory Evans. Grandchildren: Shae Lynn Evans, Buster Evans, Daniel Dobbs, Kaci Anderton, Jared DeFrance, Kayla, Paige and Haley Stout, Justin, Ty and Stewart Chambers and Maleana WIlkins.

Sixteen great grandchildren. Sister Linda Southard and husband Roland and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Brenda Evans please visit our Sympathy Store.
