Obituary for Mary Alice Dixon Mary Alice (Johnston) Thomas Dixson passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 100 on Sunday, November 4, 2018. She was born on December 31, 1917 in Corsicana at the home of Andrew Clinton and Mary Elizabeth Johnston. Mary Alice married Sol Witt “Tommy” Thomas on November 9, 1940.

They were blessed with 2 daughters, Betty Jane Thomas (Wann) in 1942, and Mary Thomas (Laxson) in 1945. Tommy preceded Mary Alice in death on April 22, 1962. She later married George Dixon in San Antonio in 1969.

George passed away in 1993. Mary Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Johnston; sisters, Billie Fair Reed and Andrea Nance; and niece, Kathy Nance. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Ann Christian and husband Chris Christian of Tyler, Texas; 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at Corley Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors in the name of Mary Alice Dixon by going to www.
