Bennettsville Mrs. Brenda Owens Powers passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at her residence after an illness. She was 63 years old. Mrs. Powers was born on July 3, 1955 in Bennettsville, SC.

She was a daughter of the late William A. “Bill” Owens and Annie Hinson Owens. She was a member of Bennettsville First Presbyterian Church. She was finance specialist and handling the book keeping at Mutal Saving Bank along with her church.

She enjoyed cooking, reading cook books, watch scary movies, traveling, the beach, playing the piano, helping others, and most of all spending time with her family. Mrs. Powers leaves behind to cherish her memory her; husband, John Powers; son, John L. “Luke” Powers, V of Bennettsville; step-daughters, Jennifer Watts (Aaron) of Charlotte, NC and Stephanie Donaldson (Matthew) of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Martha A. Gainey (Tom) of Hartsville, SC and Lisa Hood of Bennettsville, SC; 3 grandchildren; a very special friend, Janice Eubanks. She was preceded in death by her father listed above and brother Michael W. Owens.

A funeral service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Bennettsville First Presbyterian Church, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Dr. Scott Andrews. A visitation will be held Monday, March 24, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home from 6-8pm.
