Obituary for Bryon W. Penrod STERLING— Bryon W. Penrod, age 83, of Sterling, passed away on June 22, 2018, at Wooster Community Hospital, following a short period of declining health. He was born on August 5, 1934, in Barberton, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Johnson) Penrod. He was united in marriage to Mabel Good on November 6, 1971, in Wooster.

She survives. Bryon had been employed as a custodian at Barberton City Schools for 24 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Valley View Mennonite Church in Dalton.

He enjoyed his family, fishing, and knotting comforters. Bryon had a heart for helping needy people, including Christians in other countries. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mabel, are children, Steven (Lori) Penrod of Apple Creek, Esther Witmer of Dalton, Abram Penrod of Sterling, Ephraim (Joanna) Penrod of Geneva, NY, Nathan (Juanakee) Penrod of Orrville, and Matthew Penrod of Okinawa, Japan; 20 grandchildren; brothers, Don Penrod of Thailand, and Bruce (Laureen) Penrod of Barberton; and sister-in-law, Carol Penrod of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Penrod. Services will be held at East Union Mennonite Church, 10678 Old Lincoln Way, Orrville, OH on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. officiated by the ministry of the Valley View Mennonite Church. Friends may call at East Union Mennonite Church on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery near Rittman.
