Byron VanDoren Parshall June 11, 1925-October 5, 2018 Mishawaka-Byron “Bud” VanDoren Parshall passed away on Friday, October 05, 2018 at 2:20 a.m. at Healthwin in South Bend. Byron was born on June 11, 1925 in South Bend the son of Dale and Katherine (VanDoren) Parshall. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dale and William; and his beloved wife, Valerie Kamm.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews in Indiana, Wisconsin, Oregon, California and Florida. Byron graduated from Central High School in South Bend in 1943; from the University of Michigan with an engineering degree and Western Michigan College for a Teaching Certificate. He was employed by North American Rockwell as a contractor to NASA Space Program where he was head of quality control prior to his retirement.

Byron served in the United States Army as a Teletype Mechanic between 1944 and 1946. Byron attained the rank of Life Master in bridge. Also, he was an avid fly fisherman on the St. Joseph River, and his varied interests included being an Arthur Murray ballroom dance instructor.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. A celebration of his life and a tree planting will be held in the spring. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements.
