C Allyn Buchta, June 06, 1939 — June 04, 2018

Obituary for C. Allyn Buchta C. Allyn Buchta age 78, of Florissant, Missouri, formerly of Edwardsville, Illinois, was born June 6th, 1939, to Chester & Carol (Staaf) Buchta. He died surrounded by family June 4th, 2018, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. Allyn is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie (Zambaldi) Buchta, two sons, Dale (Geli) and Darrin Buchta, two grandchildren, Austin and Kyleigh Buchta, three brothers, Jay (Helen) Buchta, Neil Buchta, & Roger Buchta and one sister, Dr. Lois (Mike) Buchta Ladd.

Allyn was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce. Loving Uncle to Jan Buchta, Bob Aebel, Michelle Haynes, Emile Flowers, Christal Laswell, Elizabeth Buchta, Glenn Buchta, & Eric Buchta. Beloved cousin to Jane Schloz of Washington, Glen Buchta of Nebraska, & Gradwell Krause of Florida.

He was a friend to all. Allyn, a U.S. Army Veteran, was drafted during The Vietnam War and stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Allyn worked as a brake mechanic for A&E Brake Engineers in St. Louis, owned by his Uncle Arnold Staaf, and completed his career at Veola Waste Management.

A highly regarded member of The United Methodist Church in Florissant, the Edwardsville Masonic Lodge #99 AF&AM, and past President and active member of the Shriner’s Arab Patrol. He’s remembered as a most generous and charitable man. Allyn nurtured his fruit trees & garden and diligently canned.

He enjoyed hard work but fishing was his passion. He never met a stranger. His infectious laugh, and stories will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the funeral home with Rev. John Roberts officiating.

Burial will be at the Quercus Grove Cemetery in Edwardsville. The family requests memorials to the Shriners Hospital for Children. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
