Obituary for Mary Ann Towner Mary Ann (Mimi) Towner, age 84, of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in Maryville, Illinois. She was born October 30, 1933, the daughter of Bud & Mary (Ardison) Kohlburn. She married Bob Towner on January 18, 1969.

Mary Ann is survived by her beloved husband, two sons & their wives, Steve (Joyce )Towner of Litchfield and Stan (Cheri) Towner of Edwardsville; five grandchildren, Kyle and Andy of Litchfield, Nicholas (Bev) of Wood River, and Breann and Joe of Edwardsville; one great granddaughter, Natalie; one great grandson, Anthony; nephews, Bill (Christina) Kohlburn of Utah, Bob (Deanna) Kohlburn of Missouri, John (David) Kohlburn of Tennessee, Jim (Sandy) Kohlburn of Oregon, Leroy (Mary Ann) Bear of New York; nieces, Lynda (Brian) Lamont of Connecticut and Barbara Sherer of Edwardsville; many great nieces & nephews; three cousins, Nancee & Corwin Flavin of Glen Carbon and Joe Koudela of Collinsville; one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Bear of New York; many dear and loved friends, and her cat, Tiger. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and sister-in-law, Bud Jr. and Peggy Kohlburn, two nephews Tommy & baby Kohlburn and a brother-in-law, Paul Bear. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading, doing crossword puzzles and visiting the casinos.

She was a lifelong member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville, a past member of the Parish Council, and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She worked as a private secretary at Wagner Electric for 17 ½ years, retiring in 1971. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at St. Mary’s Church with Fr. D. Patrick Gibbons officiating. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
