Obituary for Judith Ann Schrewe Judy A. Schrewe of Edwardville, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 5th, 2018 in Maryville, Illinois. Judy was born December 21, 1946, in Highland, Illinois. Her loss has devastated her family, her friends, and her community, leaving all grasping for words to adequately describe what she meant to them.

Judy filled her 71 years with devoted service, with indefatigable energy, with life, and with love. She spent 54 years at WRB Refining LP in Wood River, culminating in her position of executive assistant and playing a vital role in building the refinery’s tightknit community. She was a dedicated and active member of St Cecilia’s Catholic Church all of her life, regularly singing in the choir and serving as a cantor at Mass.

When she wasn’t working for her company or for her community, she loved indulging in retail therapy, while her love of travel took her across the United States, Canada, and to Europe on several occasions. Most of all, however, Judy was a friend to all who knew her. She leaves behind her heartbroken family, including Alan, her loving husband of 44 years, her sons Todd (Kristin) of Edwardsville, Illinois and Brett (Katrina) of Victoria, British Columbia, her beloved grandchildren Brayden and Sloan, and her sister Sharon (Rich) Krieshok of Troy, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Elma (Going) Sasek of Glen Carbon, Illinois. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m Friday, October 12, 2018, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Fr.

D. Patrick Gibbons officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Carbon City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly invites donations to be sent in Judy’s name to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital of Saint Louis.
