Obituary for Flora Lee Renken Flora Lee Renken, age 93, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, formerly of Worden died at 6:05 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Flora Lee was a pianist and performed at nursing homes in the greater metro east area. She was also taught music and art in St. Louis and Edwardsville.

Flora was born in Hamel on April 4, 1925, the daughter, of the late Fred C. & Lillian (Thomae) Engelke. She married Harry W. Renken on June 8, 1946, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamel. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2015.

She is survived by 2 sons, Scott Renken of Lake Forest, Illinois and Seth Renken & wife Pamela of Edwardsville, 1 daughter, Kristine Stipcak & husband Jerry of Cumming, Georgia; 9 grandchildren, Dana & Jeremy Stipcak, Jessica Prats, Lauren & Warren Renken, Richard, Steven, Peter & Charles Renken; 7 great grandchildren, Paige Wade, Lyam, Bailey, Fiona, & Keira Renken, Ethan & Jacob Pratt; and 1 sister, Genevieve Heepke of Edwardsville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larmen “Bud” Engelke and 1 sister, Virginia Engelke Geers, and 1 great grandson, Joshua Renken. Flora Lee was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville.

She was an avid artist for many years and a former member of the St. Louis Artists Guild. In previous years Flora worked and Scott Airforce base in in later years along with her husband, Harry she worked on the family farm in Worden. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pairietown Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Boniface Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
