Obituary for Donald R. Beard Donald R. Beard, age 80, of Troy, Illinois, passed away at 4:54 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at his residence. He was born April 4, 1938, the son of the late Bert & Grace (Rapp) Beard. He was retired from Granite City Steel where he worked for many years.

Donald is survived by one sister, Norma May of Troy; a his long time companion Gloria Bland; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene & Arthur Beard; and two sister, Ida Foster, & Gladys Smith. Donald served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Scottberg officiating. Burial will be at United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bethalto.
