Obituary for Callen Dempster Obituary for Callen Dempster Callen Louis Dempster, Sr., 86, a native and resident of Kraemer, LA passed away on November 24, 2018. A visitation will be held in his honor on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, Kraemer, LA from 8:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon .

The burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ella Louise Simon Dempster; sons, Steven (Rosetta) Dempster, Callen (Annette) Dempster, Jr., and Barnett “Joe” (Teli) Dempster; daughters, Tana Dempster, Jan (Mark) Martinez, Marla (Randall) Loupe, and Annette (Matt) Glad; brothers, Jessie Dempster, and Darrel Dempster; sisters, Carrie Loupe, Linda Larousse, and Beverly Poynter. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Onezime “ZZ” and Odette Cortez Dempster; brothers, Steven Dempster, and Alton “Sque” Dempster, and sister Azema “Zam” Traigle. Callen lived most of his life in Kraemer. He served 4 years as an Airman in the US Air Force.

He was a member of the Bayou Boeuf Volunteer Fire Department, and KC Council # 10900. He was a member of American Legion Post # 0349 for 54 years. He was also a faithful member of St. Lawrence Church where he served as an usher, worked Community Fair and helped in construction of the church.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, sportsman, and gardener. He lived life to the fullest until his final day. He was a committed loving husband, and an amazing, unselfish provider for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
