Calvin’s Obituary Calvin Lewis West, Jr. of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona unexpectedly passed away on December 12, 2018 at his home in Show Low. He was 75. Calvin was born on June 17, 1943 in Cucamonga, California to the late Calvin L. and Bennie N. (Armstrong) West.

Calvin married the love of his life, Toni McGavock, on May 18, 1962 in Laverne, California at the age of 18. Together they moved to the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona after visiting Calvin’s sister in Show Low. They fell in love with the area and knew that Show Low was where they wanted to raise their family.

Calvin worked for the Show Low School District for many years before going to work for Cal Gas where he eventually retired. Not ready for retirement, Calvin began working for the Snowflake School District before finally settling into his retirement days. Calvin enjoyed woodworking and loved to be in his woodshop in his backyard.

He made furniture of all kinds and gave away many of his treasures to his beloved family and friends. He was a helpful person who deeply cared for and loved his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Toni of Show Low; sons, Dean West of Show Low and Mel and Peggy West of Show Low; grandchildren, Mike West, Suzanne West, Aliesha Arrington and Teanna Fisher; 5 great-grandchildren with one due in March and a brother, Kenneth and Kris West of Dolan Springs, Arizona.

Private memorial services were held.
