Obituary for Carl “Boots” Hammond Carl Junior “Boots” Hammond, 93, widower of Geneva Neal Hammond, passed away May 7, 2018. A native of Greenville County, a son of the late James Thomas and Mabel Knight Hammond, he was a retired textile employee, US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Taylors Church of God. Surviving are three sons, Dwight Hammond (Jean) of Taylors, Wayne Hammond (Laura) of Simpsonville and Kenneth Hammond of Taylors; one daughter, Pamela Turner (Carroll) of Taylors; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by one brother, Milford Hammond and one sister, Thelma Shaw. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Mark McCall and Rev.

Richard Porterfield. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
