Mr. Carl E. Salley, 82, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Carl is the husband of Mary Gates Salley. He is the father of Todd (Angie) Salley of Lexington.

Mr. Carl’s step children are Alan (Rachael) Frye of Summerville, and Traci Keeler of Edisto Island. He is the grandfather of Elizabeth Salley (Keith) Millender and Tyler Eugene Salley He is the step grandfather of Brett Frye and Kristin (Houston) Kirk. Mr. Carl’s step great grandson is Joshua Kirk.

He was the son of the late Dallieuce Eugene Salley, Jr. and Vertie Lee Yon Salley. Mr. Carl was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Gail Salley. Mr. Carl graduated Salley High School.

He worked at the Savannah River Plant for thirty plus years. Mr. Carl’s had an enthusiasm for fishing and shrimping. He enjoyed raising Daylilies, gardening, and bird watching.

The family is to choose a charity for memorials to be made in honor of Mr. Carl instead of sending floral arrangements. We will update the name and location of the charity Monday. A Service to Celebrate Mr. Carl’s life will be held in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services Thursday at 3 pm with the Rev.

Henry Cooper officiating. A time of fellowship with the family will follow the service.
