Carl’s Obituary Carl Vernon Evans, 84, of Rushville, passed away Saturday, February 9th 2019 at Millers Merry Manor. He was born September 4, 1934 in Rushville to Harley & Ethel (Nugent) Evans. He was married for 50 years to June (Rafuse) Evans who preceded him in 2016.

Carl served in the United States Marine Corp and in Korea. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rushville, Phoenix Lodge #62 in Rushville & the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite. He worked at Schnadig Corp for 30 years, had his own upholstery business and worked as a custodian at Milroy Community School.

He loved spending time with his family, vacations in Maine, Lake Wawasee, and Panama City Beach Florida. He also enjoyed woodworking, upholstering, traveling with family, collecting coins with his youngest brother Ray and making homemade ice cream. He is survived by his daughter Carla (Ryan) Ranck of Fishers, granddaughter Lauren (Marc) Williams, their son Walter, and granddaughter Kelsey Ranck.

Also two sisters in law Marlene and Sue Evans and companion Margaret Hornaday. In addition to his wife and parents, Carl was preceded by Nioma (Byron) Bitner, Pauline (Donald) Coy, Clarence “Jack” ( Renie) Evans, Gerald (Winona) Evans, Dale Evans, Wilma (Gene) Dill, Imogene (Harold) Logan, and Raymond Evans. A Celebration of Life will be held 1pm Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Rushville with Dr. David Richardson officiating.

Friends are welcome to visit from 11am to 1pm the same day. Burial will follow at Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
