Obituary for Carmela J. Maida Carmela J. Maida, 91 of Eltingville, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at her residence. Born Thursday, September 16, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Rosaria Trovato. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Saverio, who passed away in 1992.

She was the loving mother to Gary and Eric; fond mother-in-law to Pyllis and Laura; dear sister to Concetta Mamone and Charles Trovato; devoted grandmother to Lauren (Carmen), Gary, Jr. (Dana), Brian, Nicholas and Brianna; and cherished great grandmother to Jackson and Leonardo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church located at 53 St. Patrick’s Place Staten Island, New York 10306. Interment will follow in St. Charles/Resurrection Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.

The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at The John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York.
