Obituary for Carol A. Dugan Carol A. Dugan, 78, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, at her home. She was born November 7, 1940 to the late Carl and Anna Mae Hillenbrand. Carol is a 1958 graduate of Memorial High School and a 1961 graduate from the St. Mary’s School of Nursing.

She was a nurse in the Army from 1961-1963 following graduation. She was a labor and delivery nurse for 49 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Christ the King, Nativity Catholic Church and Holy Rosary, where she sang in the choir.

She received the Brute Award, made Women’s Cursillo #21, and was active in scouting for many years. Since her retirement, she volunteered at the Soup Kitchen and the Little Sisters of the Poor. She was also well known at church events for her pies, fudge, and divinity.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing cards, camping with her family, an avid bicyclist, and anything Christmas. Carol is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Carl) Ulrich of Newburgh, Chris (Scott) Schulte of Newburgh; sons, Mike (Robin) Dugan of Newburgh, Jeff Dugan of Evansville; grandchildren, Sarah and Rachel Dugan, Elaine, Emily, and Ben Ulrich, Jessica, Matthew, Nathan, and Brad Schulte; brother, Daniel (Janice) Hillenbrand; sister, Sue Schmelz; many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her Cursillo Prayer Group of over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ronald Dugan. Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave. Evansville, where a Memorial service will begin at 7:00pm.

Visitation will continue from 9:30am to 10:00am Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1303 S. Green River Rd. Evansville, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00am. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
