Ruth Laverne (Hitch) Bridge, 90, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Bethel Manor. Ruth was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 20, 1927 to the late William L. and Eva A. (Drain) Hitch. She was a graduate of Central High School where she was the editor of the Centralian yearbook.

Ruth worked for Ice Service and was a book keeper at local businesses around Evansville. She loved wildlife, being outdoors, yard work, and was an avid sports fan who was… Read More » known for her homemade cookies and pies. Ruth enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with her late husband, Bill.

She was a generous woman who volunteered at Old North Church’s nursery school. Ruth will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Hufnagel (Ron) of Evansville, IN; son, Bob Bridge of Bedford, IN; sisters, Martha Niehaus and Carol Talley (Ron) both of Evansville, IN; brother, Bill Hitch (Flame) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Kari Luna (Luis) of Mukilteo, WA, Angela Rumohr (Tom) of Zionsville, IN and Laura Cave (Nick) of Evansville, IN; and by seven great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Billy Bridge; her parents; and by sister, Nancy Parry. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. , Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Clifford Herring officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:30 AM until service time on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004, or www.
