Obituary for Sylvester Pete Hoehn Sylvester Pete Hoehn, 87, of Evansville passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital. Sylvester was born February 9, 1931 in Posey County, Indiana to the late Charles Nicholas and Teresa Catherine (Hertel) Hoehn. Pete was a 1949 graduate of Wadesville High School.
He served for the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. Pete retired from Keller Crescent after 42 years in 1993. He was a former member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is a current member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Pete enjoyed camping, boating, and crossword puzzles, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Pete is survived by his daughter, Vicki Hoehn; sons, Mark Hoehn (Karla), Paul Hoehn and Tim Hoehn (Kristi); grandchildren, Sara (Kevin) Short, Becky Hoehn, Kristina and Maria White, Jennifer Hoehn-White (Tom), Jordan and Joanna Hoehn, Trevor, Travis and Trenton Hoehn, Meka and Mia Murphy,and Michael Hoehn; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta Whelan; brother, Bob Hoehn (Sandra); many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosann (Trueblood) Hoehn; sisters, Theresa Folz, Katherine Garrett, Ann Axton, Mary Lou Wolf, and Elizabeth Roby; brothers, Francis, John and Herman Hoehn; and granddaughter, Jessica Hoehn. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave. , Evansville, IN 47714 with a memorial service at 6:30 pm.
Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:00 am Friday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd, Evansville, IN 47714. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Friday, November 9, 2018, at the church with Fr. Homero Rodriguez officiating.
