Obituary for Paul H. Smith Paul H Smith, 101 formerly from Evansville, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 1918 in Lilburn, Georgia at Pruitt Health Center. He was born on July 18, 1917 in Hume, Illinois. He and his wife, Violette, were chartered members of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1949 with a degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant for Chrysler, Servel and Atlas Van Lines, where he retired in 1981. He was a WW II veteran and served in the Army, 30th Infantry Division in the 118th Field Artillery Battalion and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Sue) Smith, Sr. of Florissant, Missouri, and Philip (Mary), of Flowery Branch, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Vicki Smith-Dean, Andrew Smith, Alan Smith, Kenneth Smith Jr., Jennifer Smith and Jessica Smith-Rimawi; and four great-grandchildren, Alexia Dean, Colin Dean, Kealana Smith and Leyla Rimawi. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Violette; two brothers Joseph and Robert Smith; and one sister Mary Elizabeth Smith Harmon. Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave, Evansville, IN 47710.

Visitation will continue Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 9:00 am -10:00 am at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Road, Evansville, IN 47710 with Father Jason Gries officiating. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
