Obituary for Carol Jean Fischler FORT WORTH – Carol “Jeanie” Rankin Fischler, 87, completed her earthly life of love, devotion to family, and service to others Friday, April 6, 2018, in Fort Worth. Memorials: First Baptist Church of Keller, 225 Keller Pkwy, Keller, Texas 76248 Carol Fischler was a native Texan born Dec. 12, 1930, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Carol will be remembered for her worship of the Lord, faithful Bible reading, a true prayer warrior, and enthusiasm for church, family, and friends. While at North Side High School, Fort Worth, Carol excelled at playing the clarinet earning a chair in the All-State Band. She received her BA in Education from TCU.

While at TCU, Carol met the love of her life, Bert, and was blessed with forty-seven years of marriage. Her love for children led to 30 years of teaching first-grade in the Fort Worth ISD, followed by twelve years of substitute teaching. She was a member of the Eastside Optimist Club Opti-Mrs. service organization.

During her retirement, she and Bert traveled extensively in Israel, Egypt, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas and the U.S. Carol loved planning family get-togethers, cooking for family, and attending church together. She continued her hobbies of ceramics, oil painting, sewing, playing the piano, driving, and love of Chihuahuas. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Fischler, and son, Edward Bert Fischler.

Survivors: Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carol Lynn Crowley and her husband, Jon, Ann Fischler, and Kathy Bert Golden and her husband, Butch; thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandsons; sister-in-law, Raydene Rankin; nephew, David Rankin; niece, Pam Cade; and numerous loving cousins.
