Obituary for Carolyn Duncan Carolyn Clara Duncan passed away on June 9, 2018 in Loveland, Colorado. Carolyn was born in Rawlins, Wyoming on January 11, 1930 to Wilbur and Hattie Weaver. She had one older brother, the late Wilbur “Buck” Weaver and a sister, Marian Darling who lives in Laramie, Wyoming.

She was raised in Rawlins, Wyoming going to grade school there and graduating from the St. Scholastica Academy in Canyon City, Colorado class of 1948. She met her husband, Harvey Duncan, at Lamont, Wyoming at her parents store there. They were married on March 17, 1949.

She has two sons, Carl and Jim, and a daughter Della. Harvey and Carolyn lived in Bairoil, Wyoming from 1949 to 1978, Harvey working as a plant operator while Carolyn was involved with community and school activities such as playing the piano at Christmas plays and graduations. When her family was raised she went to the University of Wyoming and received her Master’s degree in Music and a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science.

She taught music and was a librarian at the Carbon County School District for several years. Harvey and Carolyn Duncan moved to their place at Rattlesnake Creek by Elk Mountain, Wyoming in 1978 and finally to Loveland, Colorado in 1996. Carolyn Duncan will always be remembered as an avid bridge player, fantastic gardener, and great cook.

Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved decorating the inside of her house for this holiday. At all the family dinners she always brought 2 desserts. These will be missed!

She is survived by her sons, Carl Duncan of Loveland, Colorado; Jim and Debbie Duncan of Green River, Wyoming; daughter Della McGuire of Fort Collins, Colorado; sister Marian (George) Darling of Laramie, Wyoming; sister-in-law, Linda Cassidy of Silver Springs, Maryland; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, nephews and nieces; also sister-in-law June Weaver of Huntington Beach, California. Preceded in death by husband Harvey Duncan on August 15, 2015, brother Wilbur “Buck” Weaver on August 1972 and one granddaughter Carolyn Murphy on May 6, 2018. There will be a family memorial service on July 1, 2018.
