Obituary for Carolyn Moody (Edwards) Carolyn Marie Landers Moody, age 76, passed away on Monday June 11, 2018 in Winnsboro, Texas. She was born on February 9, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Archie Thomas Edwards and Marie Armstrong Edwards. She moved to Sulphur Springs, Texas, with her family her freshman year in high school.
She married Larry Landers after high school and had three children from that marriage – Lesa, Rand, and Angie. Carolyn pursued many endeavors during her lifetime, a few of the most notable being operating the Captain’s Corner men’s clothing store in downtown Winnsboro, becoming a real estate agent and operating Landers Realty in Winnsboro, and later in life becoming a real estate appraiser and operating Certified Appraisal Services until she was 75 years old when she retired. Carolyn had a large personality for a little person.
She had a perpetual curiosity. She would often be known to say, “Wait; Let me look that up”. in efforts to satisfy her curiosity.
She had a passion for reading and at any point could be asked, “What are you reading? ” and would have an immediate answer. She loved to cook, and when the Food Network Channel came along, it gave her a whole new avenue of opportunity to learn about different recipes she could try in the kitchen.
She enjoyed traveling, working crossword puzzles, watching TV, and shopping. Carolyn loved her family. She was quick to answer questions about her grandchildren and great-children, always ready with how they were doing.
She loved her pet Schnauzers, Cici and Lucy. They brought her great joy in her later years of life. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carlton Moody; and her daughter Lesa.
She is survived by her brothers Bob Edwards and Tom Edwards; her son Rand Landers; her daughter Angie Hollingsworth (husband Ray); her four grandchildren Matthew Monday, Michael Monday (wife Gretchen), Victoria Henderson (husband Trevor), and Kanen Smith; her five great-grandchildren Nolan Monday, Shane Monday, Kristoff Monday, Zera Henderson, and Avery Henderson; and a host of so many other important people in her life including more family and numerous friends who were very special to her.
