Carolyn Miller Ross , December 27, 1949 — December 12, 2018

Carolyn Ross, 68 of Kannapolis, North Carolina peacefully transitioned from earth to Eternity on December 12, 2018 at Curis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Concord. Carolyn was born in Cabarrus County on December 27, 1949. She was the eldest child born to the late Henderson Lee Miller and Annie Mae McClendon Miller.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 19, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 6734 Macedonia Church Road, Concord, NC. Visitation will be 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00. Burial will follow at church cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Ross; two brothers: Emanuel “Doc” Miller and David Miller; one sister, Betty Miller. Carolyn was a 1968 graduate of Logan High School in Concord. Carolyn also attended Shaw University.

She immersed herself in her studies and excelled academically. Carolyn graduated Cum Laude in 1989 receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration & Management. Carolyn served as Secretary of the Student Class Government at Shaw University Cape and also a member of the Social Events Committee.

Carolyn’s greatest achievement was giving her life to Christ. Knowing this, the Bible provides us who remain on this side of eternity with comfort and confidence in knowing that those in Christ Jesus who are absent from the body are present with the Lord. In 1973 Carolyn professed Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

She was baptized and became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Concord, NC. Carolyn took on many duties as a servant of the Lord until her health declined. Carolyn once served as Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Secretary and she sung on the Gospel Lite Choir.

Carolyn poured her love and encouragement into to all who crossed her path. Carolyn was a blessing to those around her, and her outgoing charismatic personality would draw many to her. Carolyn was a wonderful mother, a devoted wife, and a doting Nana.

After the death of her husband she spent her remaining years enjoying the company of her beloved grandchildren, her daughter and son-in-law. Carolyn leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving daughter, Dorothy Ross Brady, a loving son-in-law, Reginal Brady Sr; three grandchildren: Reggie Brady, Jr., Sarah Brady and Thomas Brady; two sisters: Pamela Womack (Ricky) of Greensboro, NC and Occlisha Miller of Kannapolis, NC.
