She was a member a Sweet Water Baptist Church and was a retired second grade school teacher at Sweet Water High School. She is survived by her three children, Joe Newton (Debra), John Newton (Nancy), and Ann Blackmon (Paul); sister, Agnes Gaines; seven grandchildren, Daniel Newton (Meegan), Erin Crowley (Charles), Sarah Newton, Natalie Tucker (Will), Jessica Ann Newton, Boyd Blackman, and Jackson Blackman; three great grandchildren, Livie Tucker, Everett Crowley, and Joseph Newton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Calvin Newton and her grandson, Caleb Newton Visitation will be held at Sweet Water Baptist Church on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Rev.

Micah Gandy officiating. Burial will follow at Sweet Water Cemetery in Sweet Water, AL.
