Casey Lee Shoemate, 26 years old, was called to live with Jesus on the 20th day of April, 2018, doing what he loved most, serving his community. Casey was born on the 15th day of February 1992 in Jefferson City, MO. He attended Cole R-5 in Eugene, MO through 6th grade when his family moved to Lake Ozark, where he attended School of the Osage and graduated in 2010 from Eldon R-1.
Casey graduated from The Missouri Sheriffs’ Association Training Academy in 2013. After graduating, he became a Police Officer for the City of Eldon and became a Sheriff Deputy for Miller County in October of 2017. Casey will be remembered most for his one of a kind, smile and sense of humor.
You could always count on “Case” to be “quick at the tongue” with a hysterical comeback. The unannounced visits for food or the use of your “facilities”, and the “Loveyoubye’s” at the end of EVERY call or text will be forever longed for and missed. But most of all……Casey will be remembered for his wonderful bear hugs, his kindness and love for his family friends and community.
His time X-Boxing with his buddies and playing nerf wars with his children and family were some of his favorite times. His ridiculous collection of DVD’s, and trying new recipes were his addictions. Casey was loved and respected by everyone he ever met.
He had a presence about him that caused you to instantly want to be a part of his life. Survivors include his children Samuel Douglas Shoemate, age 7 and McKenzie Dawn Shoemate age 3, of Eldon, MO. His parents, Betsey and Keith Browning of Eldon, MO and Dale and Jessica Shoemate, Eldon, MO.
One biological Brother, Nicholas Dale Shoemate of St. Roberts. One Step Brother, Dalton Shoemate. Two Step Sisters, Freedom Shoemate and Justice Shoemate, all three from Eldon, MO.
His Fiancé, Kristina Engle, and three, soon to be step children, Miley Engle, Riley Engle and Austin Engle, Eldon, MO. His Step Grandmother Tamera Miller of Eldon, MO. And one niece, Courtney Dawn Shoemate of Eldon, MO.
Grandparents, Ersa Maureen Franklin of Eldon and Donna and Ronnie Roark of Warsaw, MO. Aunts and Uncles, Amy and Robert Schwartze Westphalia, MO and R.J and Beth Roark, Eldon, MO. Casey was preceded in death by his Maternal, Papa “with the horses”, Donald A. Edwards, Step Maternal Grandfather, Carl B. Franklin and Paternal Uncle, Roger Lee Shoemate.
