Clara Ellen (Farris) Scott Jenkins, 87, of Olean, Missouri went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 5, 1931 in Eugene, Missouri, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Eliza (Winters) Farris. She attended Eugene School.

She was united in marriage on February 14, 1948 to Benjamin Scott, Sr. who preceded her in death on May 21, 1973. They were blessed with nine children. Clara will be lovingly remembered by her children, step-son, Gary Gene and Judy Scott of Hesperia, CA; Patrick and Judy Scott of Jefferson City, MO; Andy Scott of Jefferson City, MO; Jonathan and Tammy Scott of Olean, MO; Nancy (Scott) and David Bond of Eugene, MO; and one daughter-in-law Tina Scott of Holts Summit, MO.

She also is survived by two sisters-in-law, Louise Farris of Olean, MO and Hazel Gier of Eldon, MO, and many nieces and nephews. She then was united in marriage to James “Jimmie” Jenkins on August 11, 1975 and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2005. She was a member of the Spring Garden Baptist Church of Olean, MO, were she had served as the pianist for many years.

Clara was an avid member of the church and was even involved in the ground breaking of the new sanctuary. Clara enjoyed being outside working in her flower garden or making beautiful paintings. However, the role as a mother and grandmother was the most important thing to her.

Her loving arms were open to all and her quick smile seemed to warm your heart with joy. She will continue to live on through the many lives she has touched including: twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Others that preceded her in death include three sons, step-son, Jimmie Lee Scott, Benjamin E. Scott, Jr., and David M. Scott; one daughter, Carolyn Scott Bunger; one son-in-law, Wayne Bunger, and one grandson, David M. Scott II, and two brothers, Earl E. Farris and Lawrence E. “L.E.” Farris.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO. Funeral Service will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with Brother Ken Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery.

Memorials in her name are suggested In Care of the Family. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
