Catherine Anne Spagnoli, 87, of Toms River, NJ passed away Thursday, July 19th, at Laurel Bay Health & Rehab, Keansburg, NJ. Catherine was born in Astoria, NY on November 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Mary Nolan Cavanagh and William Cavanagh. Catherine lived in New Mexico as a Carmelite Nun in her younger years.

She then moved back to Queens, NY and then settled in Hazlet with her husband Anthony. Catherine was the owner and broker of record for Ability Realty Century 21 in Holmdel New Jersey for many years. When she moved to Toms River she loved being a CCD teacher for St. Joseph’s RCC in Toms River for first grade students.

She also enjoyed bringing communion to the patients at Community Medical Center. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1989, and her sisters Bridgette and Mary. Surviving are her loving children Christopher and his wife Christine Spagnoli of Aberdeen, NJ and Maria and her husband Richard Cole of Virginia.

Also surviving are her three cherished grandchildren Helena Spagnoli, Hannah and Daniel Cole. Viewing will be held 2 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, July 22nd at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place in Keyport, New Jersey. Viewing will be held 9 AM to 9:45 AM on Monday, July 23rd at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, New Jersey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, July 23rd at St Benedicts RC Church in Holmdel, NJ .
