Sepples and the beloved mother of Anthony Sepples, Eileen Sepples Rydel, Claire Sepples Grey, Susan Sepples, Patrick Sepples, and Mary Ann Sepples Stemm. Kay Sepples was born in Litchfield on April 27, 1926, devoted daughter of the late William and Margaret (Doyle) Brennan, she was a lifelong resident and parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

She was a fulltime mother and wife for her six children, her husband, and their extended family. She then worked as a bookkeeper with the First National Bank of Litchfield, retiring in 1992 with 10 years of service. Kay was a devout and engaged member of her church, St. Anthony of Padua in Litchfield.

She believed in living her faith and so lived in great service to others her whole life. She cared for her extended elderly family members, taught CCD, worked with at risk youth as a volunteer Teacher’s Assistant, and supported her children and their children when they needed her most. Kay (Mom, Gram) will be remembered for her love of life, her ability to laugh in even the toughest times and for the beautiful dignity with which she approached the world.

Not one of her grandchildren has not been cautioned, “Gram wouldn’t like that”. She had a very high standard. We all can only aspire to live up to it.

Kay is survived by her husband, Edward, her two sons: Anthony and Patrick, her four daughters: Eileen Sepples Rydel, Claire Sepples Grey, Susan Sepples, and Mary Ann Sepples Stemm. Her beloved daughter and son-in-laws: Nancy Sepples, Jeff Rydel, Jerry Grey, Roger McCord, and Rebecca Sepples. Kay also leaves behind a bevy of people who know her only as “gram”: Her beloved grandchildren include: Shawn Sepples, Michele Sepples, Christina Borel, Sarah Borel, Joshua Morin, Amy Morin, Kevin McCord, Hannah McCord, Jennifer Stemm, Nicholas Stemm, Tyler Stemm and her namesake, Catherine Sepples.

Her great grandchildren include: Leah and Joseph Sepples and Bianca and Wesley Morin. She is also survived by her dear brother and her sister in law, William and Esther Brennan, her nieces and nephews: Ann Kantra, Ruth Sullivan, Charles Sullivan, Kathleen Brennan, Frances Brennan, and James Brennan. She lived in such a loving, kind, and genuine way that everyone who knew her was changed by her.

She lives in all of us, and therefore can never truly leave us.
