Obituary for Catherine Stephens (Weigle) Catherine W. (Weigle) Stephens, 91, of Irwin died Monday July 9, 2018 in the Barnes Place, Latrobe. She was born September 4, 1926 in Findlay, OH. a daughter of the late Rev.
Clarence and Eleonora (Kring) Weigle. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church, of Irwin.
Katie was very active in the Garden Club, loved to play bridge and enjoyed sewing. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband John G. Stephens; a daughter Debra Jo and a sister Laura Cornell. Surviving are three children David M. Stephens and his wife, Denna, of Spokane, Wash.
, John C. Stephens and his wife Kimberly, of Jeannette and Kathryn Kirsh and her husband, David, of Irwin; eight grandchildren, David and Doug Stephens, Bo and Casey Ponsoll, Corey Stephens, Chelsi Cortese and Kaylee and Ashley Kirsh, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. A funeral service will be held Friday 10 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church.
Interment will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery. The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 617 Main Street Irwin or to the Norwin Area Meals on Wheels 12727 Lincoln Way North Huntingdon PA 15642.
