OBITUARY Cathy Marie Bernard January 16, 1953 – October 17, 2018 Cathy Marie Bernard, 65, of Lynchburg passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She is survived by her husband Elmer Earl Bernard, Jr. Born in Lynchburg, January 16, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Elmo Mawyer and Margaret Childress Mawyer. Cathy loved to travel, especially going to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

She also loved the beach, and she attended the Neptune Festival every year. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Bernard.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dink Bernard and his wife Ashley of Forest, Troy Bernard of Rustburg; one sister, Karen Wilkerson and her husband Walter of Rustburg; three grandchildren, Braxton, Tattum and Addison Bernard and a number of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Celebrant Polly Starnes officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
