OBITUARY Iola Duval Phillips September 16, 1928 – September 30, 2018 Iola Duval “Sissy” Phillips, 90, of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was the wife of the late T.A. “Dooley” Phillips. Born on September 16, 1928 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Mabel S. Duval.

Sissy was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and was an avid reader. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Buck Duval. Sissy is survived by her two daughters, Loretta Phillips and Bonnie Phillips; two granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Sprouse; one great grandson, Korbin Olinger; and her sister, Patsy Tyree.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www. alz.org or the Lynchburg Humane Society, 1211 Old Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
