Obituary for Cecilia “Cecil” Ewjean Walden Dryden, VA Cecilia “Cecil” Ewjean Walden, 82, born March 9, 1936, passed away on July 4, 2018 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap, VA. Cecil, as she was affectionately known, lived in Lee County her entire live. .

She worked for the former Plaza Drug and Mutual Pharmacy for many years and later worked as a C.N.A. with Lonesome Pine Hospital for ten years. . She loved to raise a vegetable and flower garden of which she could name all her plants each year.

She was a member of the Olinger Missionary Baptist Church and attended Seminary United Methodist Church, in her later years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Phoeba (Dearry) Walden; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Edsil Huff. Cecil is survived by five nephews and their wives; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; and many special friends and cousins.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday at Holding Funeral Home (E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Barry Sarber officiating.
