OBITUARY Charlene Maas January 11, 1938 – January 24, 2019 Charlene Ann Maas (Neumaster) passed suddenly in her home Thursday Jan. 24, 2019. Charlene was born in Evansville IN on Jan.

11, 1938 to the late Charles and Ruby (Grimwood) Neumaster. Charlene graduated from Evansville Central High School in 1955, where she enjoyed playing clarinet in the marching band and participating in theater and musical productions. Charlene was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, completed her Bachelor’s degree in teaching from Indiana State Teacher’s College, a Master’s from Indiana University and had her first teaching position in Seymour, IN where a blind date introduction led to the 57 loving years of marriage to her husband Charles.

She was an active member of the United Methodist faith serving in positions of creativity, service, and leadership for Blue Grass United Methodist Church and Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed serving her church in the handbell choir, vocal choirs, playing piano and director of children’s vacation bible school. Charlene is survived by her husband, Charles Maas; children, Tim Maas (Melissa) Suzanne Goodwin (Scott) and Mike Maas (Theresa); grandchildren, Brianna & Jeremy Goodwin , Grant & Garrett Maas; step grandchildren, Erin Guntren (Gregory), Hannah Marks and Carly & Nathan Toone; step great grandchild Moira Guntren and sister-in-law, Charlene Neumaster.

In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her brother, William (Bill) Neumaster. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Pastor Bessie Adams, with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the funeral home.
