Obituary for Charlene Rae Lester-Davis Charlene Rae Lester Davis went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 17, 2018. She was born Nov.

6th, 1951 in Norman, OK to Robert and Eula Mae (Bogan) Lester. And Charlene did not enter this world alone, as most of us do. She shared her birth with her twin sister, Darlene.

As with some multiple births, there were complications and Charlene was born legally blind. This presented obvious challenges for her throughout her life, but she was a fighter and never let her blindness get her down or keep her from doing the things she wanted to do. She grew up in Wewoka, graduating from Wewoka High School in 1970.

She attended East Central University in Ada, OK, receiving a bachelor’s degree in vocational home economics. Charlene taught Home Economics at Velma High School for 4 years. Charlene married Dwayne Vallandingham and had 4 boys: Robert Thomas, Richard Allen, Jacob Andrew and Jason Keith.

After her boys were raised, she worked at the Social Security/Disability office in Oklahoma City where she retired. Charlene had many interests. She loved to cook and even made her own cookbook one time.

She loved to crochet and sew and made many clothes for the boys when they were young. Charlene accepted Christ at a young age and loved to study the Bible. She was in a gospel singing group that traveled and sang in churches all over Oklahoma and surrounding states.

For the past several years, Charlene has lived in Ada at the Aldridge apartment building, where she had many friends and loved to get together for their weekly coffee group. Preceding Charlene in death are her parents and siblings; stepsister Judith Hill and twin sister Darlene Lee. Left to carry her memory are her sister Roberta and Harvey Dorn Sr. of San Antonio, TX, 2 stepbrothers Jim Lester and Jack Lester, her 4 sons: Dr. Robert Vallandingham of Sulphur, OK, Richard and Holly Vallandingham of Ada, OK, Jacob and Janyce Vallandingham of Tulsa, OK and Jason Vallandingham of OKC, OK, 9 grandchildren: Kaibree, Jaidyn and Brailyn of Sulphur, Katie and Khloe of Ada, OK, Ezekiel and Jaxon of Tulsa and baby Hank is due to arrive in Oct and Kinley of Wewoka, a host of nieces and nephews and her dear friend Bill Davis.
