Obituary for Charles Bruce Smith Charles Bruce Smith, 80, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was a resident of Union County, NC. Born on December 25, 1937 to the late Carrie Evelyn Baucom Smith and the late James Samuel Smith in Indian Trail, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Don Smith. Mr. Smith attended Indian Trail High School. After graduation, he served proudly as a medic in the United States Army and continued his military career in the Army Reserves.

After the military, he began his career with Celanese Corporation and later became a real estate broker and appraiser. He was a long time member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Matthews, NC.

He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Clatterbuck (Tim) of Charlotte, NC, Allison Stawski (Jim) of Charlotte, NC and Shannon McBride (Ty) of Charlotte, NC. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Evan Clatterbuck, Delaney Clatterbuck, Mason McBride, Laney McBride and Colton Stawski. His loving siblings, James Smith (Sadie), Peggy Smith Sharpe (Rick), Jerry Smith (Cindy), and Billy Smith (Jackie) of Union County, NC.

In addition, many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Park Road #250, Charlotte, NC 28209 or Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 2817 Mt.

Harmony Church Road, Matthews, NC 28105. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, Matthews, NC.
