Obituary for Charles Depperschmidt Pratt, Kansas – Charles Depperschmidt, 82, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home in Pratt. He was born September 25, 1936 in Liebenthal, Kansas to Marcus and Magdelena (Herrman) Depperschmidt. Charles served in the United States Army.

He worked as a cattleman and prior to that was in the oilfield. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his children, Charles D. (Sheree) Depperschmidt of Great Bend, Judy (Dale Vernard) Blankenship of Pratt, Ricky (Mary) Depperschmidt of La Crosse, Jimmy (Brenda) Depperschmidt of San Diego, California, and Kelly (Craig) Legleiter of La Crosse; brothers, Lee Edward Depperschmidt of Rush Center and Dennis Depperschmidt of La Crosse; sisters, Ida John of Placerville, California and Joann Fincher of La Crosse; previous marriages, Mary Depperschmidt of Great Bend and Carol Larkin of La Crosse; grandchildren, Mandy Huntley of Great Bend, Jennifer Wendel of Stockton, Missouri, Mark Depperschmidt of Denver, Colorado, James Burton of Pratt, Ranee Burton of Pratt, Kodie Hanes of Enid, Oklahoma, Tyler Depperschmidt of Great Bend, Joseph Depperschmidt of Great Bend, Jewelia Depperschmidt of Great Bend, Shiloa Blankenship of Pratt, Amy Depperschmidt of La Crosse, Anna Depperschmidt of La Crosse, Brandon Depperschmidt of Coronado, California, Ryan Depperschmidt of Coronado, California and Ryan Legleiter of La Crosse; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Depperschmidt; daughter, Yvonne Waitt; brothers, Gerald Depperschmidt and LaVerne Depperschmidt; and sisters, Alice Stetler, Patty Hasenfratz and Rosie Krom. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Charles Depperschmidt Memorial Fund in care of Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt.
