Charles Leonard Burton, 79, of Clover, SC, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at CaroMont Health, Gastonia, NC. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Stafford officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Clover, SC. Mr. Burton was born June 16, 1938 in Gastonia, NC to the late Jesse Meek and Pearl Estelle Stine Burton. He was retired from SE Huffman Corporation.

Following retirement, he served as a crossing guard at Kinard Elementary School for 10 years. Survivors are his wife Peggy S. Burton; daughter Deborah “Debbie” B. Faulkner (Paul); son Charles Sloan “Chuck” Burton (Kelly); grandchildren Catherine Faulkner, Latham Burton, & Sloan Burton all of Clover, SC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kinard Elementary School Library, 201 Pressley St., Clover, SC 29710 or Clover First Baptist Church, 117 S. Main St., Clover, SC 29710.
